Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP)
The Modified Atmosphere Packaging is a cost-effective way of preserving the quality of fresh produce by changing the gas levels inside a packaging.
Wrapping fresh produce in these semi-permeable films delays postharvest ripening and softening, and lengthens its shelf life by reducing weight loss – thus decreasing wastage of fresh produce, securing volume and supply, and stabilizing its market price.
