The National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) recognized UPLB as an institutional partner for its contributions and efforts in helping the council realize its mission and vision.

UPLB’s active role in implementing several projects funded by NRCP was also recognized in the ceremony held last December 14 during the council’s 90th founding anniversary. UPLB and NRCP have also been working together in project monitoring, including the closeout and clearance of projects.

Currently, UPLB has four faculty members and staff who are members of the Governing Board of NRCP. They are Dr. Marian P. De Leon, assistant to the vice chancellor (AVC) for research and extension and UPLB Museum of Natural History Director; Prof. Aimee Lynn B. Dupo; Prof. Rio John T. Ducusin; and Prof. Renato SA. Vega. Several faculty members are editors in the recently revived NRCP Research Journal. These include Prof. Dupo, Prof. Remil Galay, Asst. Prof. Loucel E. Cui, Prof. Emeritus Josefina T. Dizon, and Prof. Emeritus Pompe C. Sta. Cruz.

The certificate was received by AVC De Leon and Prof. Dupo, on behalf of UPLB Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr. and the UPLB community. (John Paulo S. Quitoriano)
