A natural antioxidant phenolics powder produced from mango seed waste was found to have great potential in the cosmetics/cosmeceutical industry. The powder can prevent skin damages due to its high total phenolic content that can scavenge photo-induced free-radicals and reduce metal ions reactivity. It has whitening and anti-ageing properties owing to its tyrosinase and elastase inhibitory activities.
It can replace imported whitening and antiaging ingredients in cosmetics.
